It is made by boiling rice in water and adding various flavors to enhance the taste. Typical Congee can include chicken or beef, but majority of the Japanese food styles include Congee with no meat.
This form of Japanese food is eaten in the morning for breakfast or as the last dish after dinner. The warmth of the meal can help individuals during colder seasons of the year. It is also ideal for individuals who are feeling unwell or have caught the cold and flu.
