Pizzazz in Everyday Items, like Kettles!
In helping remodel a friend's place, we found that making some nice selections on smaller, everyday items also made a difference to the overall feel of her place. For example, she really loves tea, so her kettle is always in sight in the kitchen. The kettle she had was so ordinary, so I suggested that she have some fun looking for a new kettle that she'd really enjoy not only using but also looking at! After all, making tea has almost a ritualistic comfort to it, so just as much as she chooses lovely teas and beautiful cups to drink it in, why shouldn't the kettle be an element that she also enjoys? She also wound up giving away her boring old clock and finding a beautiful one that really adds some pizzazz to her kitchen. There are so many household items that we look at, if not use, on a day-to-day basis, so why not choose interesting, or lovely ones that add some oomph to the home atmosphere?
