It is constructed using the time-honoured technique of a cooper's wine barrel and is made from natural, unadulterated pine.

 

The wooden Sushi Rice Tub plays an integral role in the flavour and quality of rice produced as the rice interacts with the raw timber. The timber of the Sushi Rice Tub will gradually darken and become seasoned with use, making your sushi rice taste better and better with each batch produced.

The bare wood absorbs excess moisture from the rice as it is quickly fanned cool and sprinkled with vinegar mixture.
